IELTS Speaking Practice Test 9

Lesson Structure

  • The IELTS Speaking test usually takes between 11-14 minutes.
  • In this lesson, your tutor will act as an IELTS examiner and will ask you questions based on the IELTS Speaking test.
  • At the end, your tutor will give you some feedback.


Exercise 1

Part 1

Answer these questions based on Part 1 of the IELTS Speaking test. This part of the test usually takes 4-5 minutes.


Let's talk about Goals.

1. What are your current goals in life?

2. How do you plan to reach your goals?

3. How often do you set goals for yourself?


Let's talk about fish and fishing.

4.Do you enjoy fishing? Why? Why not?

5.Is fishing a popular hobby in your country?

6.Do you eat a lot of fish?


Let's talk about housework.

7.Are you generally a tidy person?

8.What are your least favorite types of housework?

9.Who does the most housework in your home?


Exercise 2

Part 2

Complete this task based on Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test. You have 1 minute to prepare your response and up to 2 minutes to speak. Your tutor will stop you when the time is up.

Describe an item of clothing you own and like wearing.

You should say:

  • what the item of clothing is
  • when you wear it
  • where, when, and why you bought it

And explain why you like wearing it.

Part 3

Answer these questions based on Part 3 of the IELTS Speaking test. Your tutor will stop asking questions after 5 minutes.


1.Why do you think some people enjoy shopping?

2.What would you say are the advantages of online shopping?

3.Why do you think many people struggle to save money?

4.Do you consider working in retail to be a difficult job?
