IELTS Speaking Practice Test 7

Lesson Structure

  • The IELTS Speaking test usually takes between 11-14 minutes.
  • In this lesson, your tutor will act as an IELTS examiner and will ask you questions based on the IELTS Speaking test.
  • At the end, your tutor will give you some feedback.


Exercise 1

Part 1

Answer these questions based on Part 1 of the IELTS Speaking test. This part of the test usually takes 4-5 minutes.


Let's talk about school.

1.What was your favorite subject in high school?

2.Why did you like this subject?

3.How do you think studying this subject has helped you?


Let's talk about jokes and comedy.

4.Are you good at making people laugh?

5.Who's the funniest person you know?

6.Do you have a favorite comedian?


Let's talk about meeting new people.

7.Do you enjoy meeting new people?

8.When was the last time you met someone new?

9.Who's the friendliest person you know?


Exercise 2

Part 2

Complete this task based on Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test. You have 1 minute to prepare your response and up to 2 minutes to speak. Your tutor will stop you when the time is up.


Describe a difficult time that you experienced as a student.

You should say:

  • when it was
  • why was it difficult
  • how you dealt with it

And explain what you learned from this situation.

Exercise 3

Part 3

Answer these questions based on Part 3 of the IELTS Speaking test. Your tutor will stop asking questions after 5 minutes.


1.What would you say are the advantages of getting a college education?

2.Do you think college should be completely free?

3.Do you think it's necessary to go to college in order to be successful?

4.Do you think online learning will grow in popularity?
