IELTS Speaking Practice Test 14

Lesson Structure

  • The IELTS Speaking test usually takes between 11-14 minutes.
  • In this lesson, your tutor will act as an IELTS examiner and will ask you questions based on the IELTS Speaking test.
  • At the end, your tutor will give you some feedback.


Exercise 1

Part 1

Answer these questions based on Part 1 of the IELTS Speaking test. This part of the test usually takes 4-5 minutes.


Let's talk about work or study.

1.Do you work or are you a student?

2.Why did you decide to do this job or course of study?

3.What do you hope to get out of this job or course of study?


Let's talk about clothes.

4.Where do you usually buy clothes?

5.Do you spend a long time deciding what clothes to wear each day?

6.Do you enjoy wearing formal clothes? Why? Why not?


Let's talk about music.

7.Can you sing or play any instruments?

8.Do you spend a lot of time listening to music?

9.Who's the best musician you know?


Exercise 2

Part 2

Complete this task based on Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test. You have 1 minute to prepare your response and up to 2 minutes to speak. Your tutor will stop you when the time is up.


Describe a work of art you particularly like.

You should say:

  • where it is
  • how it was made
  • what it looks like

And explain why you like it.


Exercise 3

Part 3

Answer these questions based on Part 3 of the IELTS Speaking test. Your tutor will stop asking questions after 5 minutes.


1.In your opinion, what makes a good work of art?

2.What form of art do you think would be the hardest to learn?

3.Do you think it would be difficult to make a living as an artist?

4.Is art taught in schools in your country?
