Lesson Structure

  • The IELTS Speaking test usually takes between 11-14 minutes.
  • In this lesson, your tutor will act as an IELTS examiner and will ask you questions based on the IELTS Speaking test.
  • At the end, your tutor will give you some feedback.


Exercise 1

Part 1

Answer these questions based on Part 1 of the IELTS Speaking test. This part of the test usually takes 4-5 minutes.


Let's talk about your home.

2.Who do you live with?

3.What would you like to change about your home?


Let's talk about your friends.

4.How often do you see your friends?

5.What do you and your friends like doing together?

6.Who is your oldest friend?


Let's talk about airports.

7.What's the nicest airport you've been to?

8.What's the longest amount of time you've spent in an airport?

9.How do you usually entertain yourself at airports?


Exercise 2

Part 2

Complete this task based on Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test. You have 1 minute to prepare your response and up to 2 minutes to speak. Your tutor will stop you when the time is up.


Describe a job that you would like to have.

You should say:

  • what it is
  • how long you have wanted it
  • what it would involve

And explain why you would like to have this job.


Exercise 3

Part 3

Answer these questions based on Part 3 of the IELTS Speaking test. Your tutor will stop asking questions after 5 minutes.


1.Do you think technology will continue to change how people work?

2.What do you think the job market of the future will look like?

3.Would you say that most people in your country have a good work-life balance?

4.What would you say is the most difficult thing about being a working parent?
