PART 1 QUESTIONS

Introduction and interview (4-5 minutes) 

Here are possible questions that might come up during the test. Go over them with your tutor.

In the first part, the examiner will ask you a number of general questions 


Topic

Hobbies

What are your hobbies?

Why do you like your hobbies so much?

How often do you do your hobbies?

How long have you been doing your hobbies, and what inspired you get started?

What hobbies did you used to have in the past, but now do not?

Is it important to have hobbies? Why/why not?


Time

How much free time do you usually have?

How important is time to you?

If you had more free time, what would you do?

“Time is money.” Do you agree or disagree? Why?

How do you feel when someone wastes time?


 Food & Cooking

What kind of food do you like to eat?

Do you like cooking? Why/ Why not? 

What was the last meal you cooked? 

What are some kinds of food you never eat? Why? 

Describe a popular food in your country? Why do people like this food?  

What kind of new food would you like to try? Why?


PART 2 QUESTIONS

Individual long turn (3-4 minutes) 

Here are possible questions that might come up during the test. Go over them with your tutor.

You will have 1 minute to prepare to speak, and then you will talk for 2 minutes, during which the examiner will not speak.

Advice

Describe a time when you advised someone.

You should say:

  • who the person is/was

  • what the  advice was you gave

  • what the person did after receiving your advice.

  • Do you think you gave the correct advice?


Sample: B

Apologise 

Describe an incident / situation when someone apologized to you.

You should say:

  • what happened

  • who apologized to you

  • how you reacted

  • and explain how you felt after the incident.


PART 3 QUESTIONS

Two-way discussion (4-5 minutes) 

Here are possible questions that might come up during the test. Go over them with your tutor.

 In the last part, you will talk with the examiner about issues related to the topic on the card.

Topic: Advice - Two-way Questions

1.What kind of person is most suitable for giving advice to others?
2.Do you usually take advice from others/follow their advice or do you insist on your own opinion? Why?
3.Do you prefer advice from your family or friends?
4.Why do young people ask for advice?
5.Do teenagers take the advice seriously? Why?
6.Why do people seek advice from professionals?
7.Which is better: advice from young people or from older people?
8.Why do many young people refuse to accept the advice from older people?
9.Some people find it easier to accept advice than others. Why?

Topic: Apologise - Two-way Questions

  1. Why do people need to apologize?

  2. Why do some people never apologize?

  3. How do you deal with someone who never apologizes?

  4. People may apologize, even if they don’t want to, why do they do so?
