Lesson Structure
- The IELTS Speaking test usually takes between 11-14 minutes.
- In this lesson, your tutor will act as an IELTS examiner and will ask you questions based on the IELTS Speaking test.
- At the end, your tutor will give you some feedback.
NB:
- Please remember to always bring a pen and paper to take notes. (Especially for part 2).
VOCABULARY & EXPRESSIONS
Go over the following vocabulary and expressions with your tutor. Read the word/expression and definition out loud, and your tutor will go over anything you do not understand. Practice creating a sentence or two to make sure you know how to use the word/expression properly. Also Practice paraphrasing and finding synonyms by paraphrasing at least two of the example sentences, as this will help you in all parts of the IELTS test.

Answer these questions based on Part 1 of the IELTS Speaking test. This part of the test usually takes 4-5 minutes.

Complete this task based on Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking test. You have 1 minute to prepare your response and up to 2 minutes to speak. Your tutor will stop you when the time is up.
Describe a traditional meal from your country that you like.
You should say:
What the meal is
What ingredients are in it
How often you eat it
And explain why you like this meal.

Beginner Model Answer:
"I would like to describe a traditional dish from my country called Fried Rice. It is a very simple but delicious meal. The main ingredients are rice, eggs, garlic, and chicken. People also add vegetables like carrots and peas.
In my home, we have a sweet tooth, so we sometimes add a little sweet soy sauce. My family usually eats this meal on weekends because it is quick to make.
I like this meal because it tastes amazing and always smells wonderful when it is hot. It is also a comforting dish that reminds me of my childhood. Eating it always helps me grab a bite of energy when I feel tired."
